Lea Cars Rolls Royce Wedding Car in Leyland and Preston

Not often thank goodness but sometimes we provide cars for a wedding when it rains incessantly. That can offer quite a challenge to our chauffeur to keep the couple dry when they are moving to or from the car but also during photographs etc.

The challenge is doubled when we are using the convertible Rolls Royce as we always try to arrive and leave with the roof down yet keep the couple and the car dry. A challenge indeed especially when the Rolls is doing four trips to the church with both men and women dressed up in fine and new clothes.

But you can imagine the extent of the challenge when I say that chauffeur Richard was also filming the whole event and taking many photos on the bridegroom’s camera.

On the wedding on the 1st August of Emma Allen to Steve Parry in Leyland and afterwards at Bartle Hall it rained for most of the day except it suddenly and miraculously stopped when nearing Bartle Hall.

The first trip was to take Steve and his best man Tom, ushers Kevin and Paul to the Eagle and Child next to St Andrew’s Church in Church Road, Leyland for 11.45 am but it was closed until 12.00 pm and it was pouring and they do not even have a porch. We managed!

Then the Rolls went to Fox Lane to film the last stages of the bridal party getting ready then Richard took three bridesmaids – Dominique. Charlotte and Jessica – to the church then returned to take bridesmaid Siobhan and mum Ann to the church.

Lastly the Rolls took bride Emma with dad Patrick to the church! Phew!
Richard filmed the complete ceremony attended by 80 guests from behind the pulpit.

After the ceremony it was still pouring so there was mingling, video and photos in the church then the couple left last to go to Worden Park where they first sat in the Rolls with the roof up enjoying the champagne. Then the rain eased off for a few minutes so the couple sat in the car under big white umbrellas. Very romantic.

And then we left to go to Bartle Hall and on the way the rain stopped so we parked up in a quiet spot and with the roof down and took some photos and video.

On arrival at Bartle Hall the best men had organised that the guests would be outside to welcome the couple in the Rolls with the roof down – hoorah!

Then Richard stayed to film the speeches. A few days later Richard sent a fabulous set of three DVDs with an edited film of their complete wedding with music, menu and photos and presented in a lovely gift box.

“Emma and I wanted to send you a quick message to say a big thank you for everything you did for us on Friday! One of the highlights of the day was being parked on the country lane before we got to Bartle Hall and we could put the roof down! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your services. Everything was spot on. Thank you!
PS We’re very happy with the DVD and it brings back many different memories to the photos. Fab.”
